The Ring Is In The Zipper
The Sophomore Album
Coming in January 2023

FEATURING 2023's BEST DRIVING SONG:
Title of Your Sax Tape
Release Date - Feb 24, 2023

The Ring Is In The Zipper, coming in February of 2023, is the sophomore album featuring selections paying tribute to Al Mazelis, a longtime friend, mentor, and all-around among the best of humans. Al passed away in February 2021 and left a large void in the hearts of many, including the core and soul of the Grooves to Chaos family. This tribute album is being released on the 2nd anniversary of his passing - the price of $5.14 is Al's birthday (May 14) and $1.14 of each sale goes into a college fund for his son, Max.

The first single from The Ring is in The Zipper due for release on November 2, 2022 - Title of Your Sax Tape is a fun, jazzy piece that is sure to toss your head from side to side while your fingers snap unconsciously. Of course, the title is influenced heavily by the running joke on Brooklyn 99. A simple promise to you, the listener, if you don't like the song, I will eat a piece of crispy bacon, guaranteed.

The title track was a long-running inside joke about Al's wedding day, and how we made sure to not lose the rings. A much longer and more detailed story is associated with this, but here's the short version. The song itself was composed a bit supernaturally. The decision to write a song by this name just came from the universe, written in less than 48 hours - the waltz was an attempt to recreate the moment and the joy of the first dance Al and Laura shared at their wedding. Upon completing the rough draft, it was sent to Laura for approval, at which time we were made aware that tomorrow would be their 25th wedding anniversary. If you believe in souls, then you have no doubt that Al reached out through Grooves to Chaos to compose a wonderful 25th Anniversary gift for his wife - still the most thoughtful person I know even after he's passed on from this world.

"You Ruin Every Holiday!" his mother yelled at Thanksgiving dinner.

Dan Pyle was a hyper child, the epitome of ADHD, and spent his childhood being "Raised on Ritalin." Growing up in Columbia, Maryland, he was exposed to a multicultural environment. His mother gave him his first acoustic guitar on his 16th birthday, and his first electric guitar that following Christmas. "Mom played piano for over 55 years, so I incorporate a lot of piano into my music as an ongoing tribute. I can always feel her with me when I'm composing a new piano piece."

Trying to find a similar artist can be a challenge, as Grooves to Chaos provides an interesting clash of brands, from Pink Floyd to RATM, Metallica to Mazzy Star, Jazzy Pop to Gritty Blues Rock - there's a blend of many genres to enjoy.

When his father passed away in November 2019, Dan decided to quit his sales career and embarked on a journey to learn how to properly produce music.

Finding a stray dog at a gas station, Dan brought her home (not knowing she was pregnant) and she popped out ten puppies a little over a month later. Eight puppies were placed in loving new homes, Momma and two puppies joined the family -- and Pregnant Puppy Productions was born.

As for musical accolades and achievements, you'll find that Grooves to Chaos only has one at the moment - taking a chance on chasing a dream. Dan plays all the instruments, composes and produces all of GTC's music, and his girlfriend, Grace Anastasiadis, sits in as a vocalist and consultant. Just everyday people trying to make high-quality tunes.
