The Ring is in the Zipper (a tribute to Al Mazelis)
(about)Grooves To Chaos

"You Ruin Every Holiday!" his mother yelled across the Thanksgiving dinner table.

Dan was a hyper child, the epitome of ADHD and spent his childhood being raised on "Raised on Ritalin". Growing up in Columbia, Maryland, he was exposed to a multicultural environment. Receiving his first acoustic guitar on his 16th birthday and his first electric guitar that following Christmas; it was time to learn and "Fade to Black" was the first song. Dan's mom, listening to the lyrics for the first time, made Dan promise to perform "Fade to Black" at her eventual funeral. She passed away only a few short years later, on the first 14th (January) of 2000. With his small inheritance, Dan would buy a Roland VS-1680 and find the silver lining; the greatest possible parting gift from Mom... the freedom to record music at any time. "Mom played piano for over 55 years, so I incorporate a lot of piano into my music as an ongoing tribute. I can always feel her with me when I'm composing a new piano piece."

Trying to find a similar artist can be a challenge, as Grooves to Chaos provides an interesting clash of influences, from Pink Floyd to RATM, Metallica to Mazzy Star, Elton John to Twiddle - there's a taste for fans of many genres to enjoy (was that a fucking saxophone?)

Dan stepped away from music after settling down, having a son, and going through a divorce - believing it could only be a hobby at best for a single father with a day job (sales). Before the 2020 s**t hit the fan, Dan decided to quit his sales career and learn how to properly produce music.

As for musical accolades and achievements, you'll find that Grooves To Chaos only has one at the moment - taking a chance on chasing a dream. Dan plays all the instruments, composes and produces all of GTC's music, and his girlfriend, Grace, sits in as a vocalist and consultant. Just everyday people making high-quality tunes.

Also a recreational baseball player, Dan was coming home from a Roy Hobbs Tournament in Fort Myers, Florida, when he stopped to get gas in Georgia and met a stray dog. He took her home (because, seriously, who leaves a stranded dog to die?) and she turned out to be pregnant. She popped out ten puppies on Dan's 40th birthday. Eight of them were placed in loving homes and Momma and two puppies were kept in the family. So, you may or may not see a lot of dogs and puppies involved with Grooves To Chaos and
Pregnant Puppy Productions.
